Every job seeker has heard the horror story: someone wired up an auto-apply bot, and a week later their LinkedIn account was restricted. The story is usually true — and it’s usually the tool’s architecture, not the automation itself, that deserved the ban.
Why bots get accounts banned
The banned tools share a pattern: they take your credentials and log in as you from a data center. Job boards are extremely good at spotting that — new IP ranges, headless browser fingerprints, inhuman click cadence, activity at 4 a.m. Every one of those signals says “bot with stolen session”, and platforms act accordingly.
The one-browser rule
